It's amazing how a book so sweet can have such. good. spice!!!!!!!!!! I was speechless with this book and I LOVED every second of their story. It was my first book in the Julie Olivia universe and I will for sure be reading as many books as she writes because this one is just amazing!

Potential

This book had a lot of potential. That it didn't live up to.

Cameron is hardly grumpy, and to classify him as such is a gross stretch of the imagination. He's just afraid of change, like most men I know.

Grace is your typical fiery redhead heroine. Her self doubt came and went and didn't always feel genuine butting up against how confident and self assured she was.

Here's my biggest issue: No matter how many times you TELL me the banter is witty or funny or savage, that doesn't make the dialogue actually witty or funny or savage. The whole work rivals aspect was sooo contrived. It never flowed naturally and just annoyed me to no end.

I truly believe this author has amazing potential. The story pacing was great, wonderful support characters I genuinely cared about. But there's far too much telling and not enough showing, and what is shown contradicts what you're being told.

4.5 stars. I mean whoa dude. I did not expect to love this book so much. It was laugh out loud hilarious, heart warming, endearing, bad ass, steamy as heck, and incredible. I absolutely loved the banter between Cameron and Grace. I was taking pictures of dialogue and Grace’s internal monologue to send to friends because what the hell why was this book so good and so funny?? AND SPICY?? Like wow. Man, rom coms are where it’s at.
I can’t wait to dive into this series. Julie Olivia has my brand of humour and I’m so pumped to read more!

Sooooo cute! Boss/employee relationships sometimes can be cringe or tow the line of one of the characters being taken advantage of, but this book did it right. It was cute, funny, romantic, and all around a good book. My only gripe is there was some editing errors.

Like 2.5/5 actually. I just didn’t really get into the characters like I wasn’t invested in their story and when the summary said grumpy boss I was expecting an actual grumpy boss and he just …. Wasn’t like at all ahahahaha
