By: Lisa Becker
Narrated by: Connor Crais, Stella Hunter

Lisa Becker always brings joy to my listens! I love her writing style and this sports romance is the perfect story to put you in a happy mood! Garrett recently hurt his shoulder. Unable to play golf, he is hoping things heal and he can go back to work. While recuperating, he is hanging out with his family, and find Charlotte "Charlie" at the table one day. Charlotte was the nerdy kid, had a crush on Garrett, and now 15 years later, she is seeing him again. This second chance at love pushes all the right buttons. Garrett, the untouchable, has matured and now knows what is important in life. Charlotte has gained confidence in herself. Becker lets us into their inner circle as these two stumble around each other. I love how she makes Charlotte real. She isn't perfect, loves chocolate and is not afraid to be herself. Garrett is swoony, romantic and realizes what he could have in life. The perfect mix of opposites attract and true love blooming.

Connor Crais and Stella Hunter are a fabulous team and they bring Garrett and Charlotte to life. Crais has the smooth, romantic sound of Garrett. I love his nuances as Garrett begins his journey to love. Hunter falls into character as Charlotte, creating a person is easy to relate to and understand. They are the perfect mix for this listen and made an amazing pairing.

Although I have heard of the author Lisa Becker, I had yet to read any of her book so when an email landed in my inbox asking if I would be interested in reading and reviewing her latest book I took a chance and said yes. The idea of the story is what initially drew me in, being able to meet an old classmate and be completely different than you were sounds like a dream come true, being able to show how far you have come despite their teasing.

We start Links with Charlotte as she starts a tutoring session with the twins, Garrett and Macus, she sees and hears about what they are up to and the plans Garrett has with his girl of choice. We then jump into the present day, with Charlotte unrecognisable to Garrett, and what follows is a slow friendship the grows between them, as they talk about their past as well as their current situations and learn about each other again.

I really enjoyed reading Links, I loved getting to see how this duo knew each other, and how that affected their lives growing up, especially Charlotte. Seeing how far she has come, and is now a popular author is really inspiring, seeing that she never let it bring her down and how she followed her calling. Garrett was someone who I thought was arrogant, selfish, and a complete player, someone who I never pictured Charlotte to like. I liked seeing this duo reconnect and how they took things slow, getting to know each other as they are now, flaws and all, and really building a great friendship.

The flow of the story felt real and not rushed, which makes this relationship feel more realistic. The character within the pages of Links are unique with their own personalities that make them stand out from each other. Although it took me a few days to read Links, when time allowed I read as much as possible, squeezing in pages whilst cooking and cleaning.

Final Verdict
Links is a relatively quick and light read. I loved some of the comedic moments, and the t-shirts that Charlotte wears with quirky sayings. If there was a sequel or spin off to this book I would not hesitate to read it.

On my, I am swooning hard right now! Garrett Stephens is my new book boyfriend. He is smoking hot, sweet and sexy as hell. Garrett is used to getting what he wants and when he sets his sight on Charlotte, he believes he can make it happen immediately. Charlotte has had a crush on Garrett since they were teenagers and he called her glasses. Now she is all grown up and much more confident in herself, well a little at least.
Although very attracted to him still, Charlotte won't let her heart get broken by a guy who just likes the chase.
Garrett woos and friends Charlotte and he is even surprised by the effect she has on him.
A perfect curl up by the fire read for the holidays, Links is incredibly romantic and sweet. Well worth the read.

Once again, Lisa has written an engaging story that we can all probably relate to in some way. Charlotte is a young girl, a very plain girl, who has a major crush on a very cute boy in high school. And.... she's his tutor. Now that's challenging, to be that close to the guy you dream about and he doesn't even know you are alive, in that kind of way, anyway. Haven't we all been there at some point in our lives?

Fifteen years pass and their lives cross again. Charlotte is a successful writer now and is still attracted to Garrett. But can they get past the way things were in high school? And can Charlotte trust Garrett to not break her heart and leave her when he is ready to move on? I immediately loved Charlotte and was rooting for her as she puts Garrett in his place for the way he treated her in high school. She grew up to become a strong, beautiful woman who deserves to be treated right.

Links is a fun, delightful story that I devoured on my vacation. It is the perfect get-away book that leaves you with a good feeling. Thank you, Lisa, for another very entertaining story!

Super sweet, sports slowburn, with alittle spice. I listened to this and let me tell you I thought Teddy Hamilton was my favorite narrator. Connor Crais is definitely up there! I mean wow.
I loved the dynamic of how both the main characters evolved. It truly shows how each of them can finally accept the other, flaws and all. Charlotte the dorky tutor with glasses and Garrett the jock playboy really transform into lovable characters throughout the course of the book.
This was my first sports romance with golf as the sport and not being a golf fan in general, I was skeptical. However, my worries quickly faded. The story was perfect.
The side characters just added to the story in the best way. The weekend away together playing games was the best part to me.
I definitely recommend if you like:
⛳️Sports romance (golf)
⛳️Slowburn
⛳️Second chance
⛳️Good banter

Links by Lisa Becker is a second chance romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Connor Crais and Stella Hunter.

I absolutely love Lisa’s books! They always leave me with a smile. I loved the relationship that bloomed between Garrett and Charlotte. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

Connor and Stella did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like second chance romances or contemporary romances.

I really liked this romance novel! It was a little different as the two main characters, Garrett and Charlotte, took their time in getting to know one another as friends - or learn how each person was today vs when they were in high school. Sure maybe they had some hang ups from that time, but as with anyone, we learn from our past to change the future. I like how both characters saw something more in the other and help pushed for that growth. Of course there were still insecurities to deal with especially on Charlotte's side, but that is part of being human!

There were lots of funny moments that made me smile or giggle. Garrett's family was a bit nuts! And playing "I Never" at the cabin one weekend with the family?! Perhaps a bit TMI...or at least I don't know what to know about intimate details about my siblings. Then there is Fiona (Fi) who is one of Charlotte's best friends from college. Don't mess with her! But she seemed like someone I wouldn't mind having as a friend.

As a side note - there is some graphic language during the part they were playing "I Never"....I personally didn't like the wording but that is my personal taste. The sex scenes are a little graphic in case that offends anyone. There aren't many of those scenes and they are all near the end of the book.

I got this book for free on Stuff Your Kindle day, so I’m not too upset at the quality. It was cheesy and the writing was a kinda goofy, but still sweet!
