I really can’t do short stories. Don’t get me wrong, this collection is good. Especially the first section, Lord Arthur Saville’s Crimes and other stories, is quite solid. The Happy Prince and other stories are super whimsical and out there, but they are very cute and also they have a lot of moments of irony and just almost like meme level nonsense. You gotta appreciate that level of talent. The rest I think fall a bit flat, like they’re good but I struggled to feel invested and follow them properly. Again, I totally think it is a me problem.

I do think that the fairy tale quality of these stories makes them very interesting. Oscar Wilde’s mind seems like a really special place. Can’t say they were especially memorable though.
