The Duchess Takes a Husband is the very touching, sexy and satisfying end to The Gilded Age Heiresses series. Camille endured a marriage to a much older duke, who expired in the bed of his mistress in a previous book. He was abusive verbally, mentally and emotionally. There are triggers here for sure, but the abuse is off-page and handled with care. Jacob and Camille make a good couple, and their times together teaching Camille that sex can be a shared pleasure instead of being used for her body were very hot. Getting to see Camille get her HEA after three books of witnessing horrible times with her husband was gratifying. I am looking forward to the next series, which is a spin-off.

CW/TW: Spousal abuse off-page
