Hamlet

Read for English class

One of my favorite plays.

I also read this in year 12. I think the reason I like Hamlet so much is because we spent so much time studying it. Of course my first attraction to Hamlet began with Mel Gibson but it has deepened considerably since then. I get so wrapped up in the character of Ophelia. Actually, one of my favourite paintings is Ophelia by John Everett Millais. I think he really captures the tragedy of her character.

This is my favourite work of Shakespeare to date. I know a lot of people see Hamlet as a whiney bitch, but it didn't bother me. It's just a great story of betrayal, murder, lots of death & revenge for the original crime.

Another class read. Better than Romeo and Juliet in my humble opinion. I vibed more with the characters, and it felt more like a murder/mystery.
