This is my favorite version of Hamlet, listened to incessantly in adolescence.
I can't offer any great insight into this play seeing as I'm grossly under-qualified but I enjoyed it immensely.
Honestly, a banger. I’ve decided that seeing the play definitely counts as reading it (thanks, Shakespeare in the park). This has so many frequently quoted lines in it, it’s insane. I had not picked up on them all when I read it in high school. I realized having Letters to Cleo sing “Cruel to be Kind” at the end of 10 Things I Hate About You was yet another Shakespeare reference. It was helpful that I had just read the Iliad and Odyssey and also seeing Hamlet is helpful now that I’m reading Ulysses, so it really fit into my self-made syllabus. RIP Ophelia, he didn’t deserve you.
