edit: every time i read this im mystified by how human and relevant these characters still feel. for a play written in the elizabethan era to personally resonate with millions hundreds of years later shakespeare really was deserving of every fking flower he got. rip hamlet you would have loved twitter

Love it the themes and characterisation is impeccable
is it easy for me to understand shakespeare? not really. i have to read slowly, carefully, and i like to watch video essays on the plays after to fully grasp every detail, because i usually miss some. but oh do i love it! every time it gets easier, and also funnier. i just know this guy was funny as hell. basically practice makes perfect and i went from hating shakespeare because he made me feel stupid to enjoying reading his plays (although i do sometimes still feel a bit dumb)
