I enjoyed the drawings on most of the pages. I thought they kept the information fresh and interesting. However, I think that Who Was Jane Austen? made the author look almost desperate to get married. Everything else that I have seen didn’t present her that way. I think that this is a good book for kids to learn about Jane Austen, but it wasn’t my favorite.

Jane Austen paved a way to be a writer in a time when women were not encouraged to have their name on the cover of books, much less write them. She also challenged readers to embrace a new type of novel. People did. They still do. Her books are beloved today.

I've read all of Jane Austen's novels, but I didn't know a ton about her. This was a great read to find out about her life growing up and how her novels were finally published. Sad that she was only able to see 4 books published when she died at age 41. She had 2 novels finished that were published after she died.
