Deeply compelling and beautifully written. Last 3 chapters are amazing. Yes, there are the well-known issues Fanon has; namely some misogyny and homophobia that comes through pretty clear in some moments. Read critiques/work on Fanon on top of this for a more fully rigorous framework of applicability of psychoanalysis to race (ie. Hortense Spillers). This is a fantastic start though.

*3.5

I can see how it was important for it’s time, but it’s mostly information modern educated readers have heard before with far more depth and nuance, due to the wealth of research and discussion on race, gender, and colonialism. Much of the book feels dated in more ways than one.
