I like food.
I like jazz music.
I like books that rhyme.

This book touches on all three notes. I hope readers of this book take time to read the end papers....because they will find biographies of the jazz greats mentioned in this book. It will help certain phrases make more sense.

Now indeed, this book might appeal more to an adult than a child. However, even as I read to myself, I could not help but sing it in a ragtime beat. There is FUN that can be had--you just have to give it a try.

I love this happy and colorful book that combines a bit of jazz history, kitchen magic and an awesome duo in the form of Aunt Nina and her sous chef nephew. Written in rhyme and glorious bright colored fonts, this book is musical and fun to look at. The names of jazz greats are dropped throughout making this a great lesson in a musical genre that is the foundation of so many the songs we know and love today.
