Thick...too thick. Apparently she spent seven years writing it from her home in Covent Garden where her windows looked straight down into the heart of it all the 30 years including the 1930s on.

Los of dialogue, conversations and interactions between a British theatrical family, meant to be a fairly successful one. Interesting to think of how different this novel would be set in modern times now.
