The most surprising thing for me with this series is how much I like the Misfits. I was never a fan of them in the show (whether that was my age or my general character and musical preferences or my inclinations towards goody-two-shoes-ishness, I cannot say), but I generally like them as people here, which is new for me.

Also, I love the character design and the continued evolution of the characters' styles. It's so wonderful to see the multi-dimensional diversity in the book without any fanfare, that it's just a part of the world... because it's a part of the world. Plus, I appreciate that bare midriffs are seen on more than just traditional runway model types; any body is a bikini body, if that body wants to wear a bikini.

As for the new arc, this is very much the first chapter; I look forward to seeing where it goes.
