I really liked how in the beginning their was a lot of character development. Before the characters even met I felt like I understood who they were and that helped show them changing throughout the book.

You have Jesse who is a young good looking Motocross driver who has recently suffered a possible career ending injury. Jesse is bitter and is dealing with his emotions by spending his night with booze drugs and women.

Niki is struggling to figure out who she is and who she wants to be. Sick of being told what to do by her father Niki is trying to find herself.

Jesse's brother talks him in to a change of scenery in California where he meets Niki and immediately sparks fly, but things aren't always as simple as love at first sight.

Although we hadn't know each other long I already knew I would slay dragons for her

So this lovely author asked me to review her book and I said umm of course, I mean look at the cover, I think I might have drooled a little bit..
This book is part of a series so I am not going to rate it until I can read the other ones because this one was left on a cliffhanger and some unanswered questions that I am hoping will be answered in the next book...

My Thoughts

*may contain small spoilers*

When this story starts out you are inside the mind of Jesse. A bad boy with a whore, drug, and drinking problem... He is a motocross rider and he is a royal fuck up at the same time.
His brother sends his ass packing to California to help his uncle with his bar opening.
This is where we meet the second MC, Niki
Niki is a sweet girl who defies her father and instead of starting law school to become a lawyer like him, decides she wants to go to design school to see if she will like it.
Of course she doesn't tell her father and the only person that knows is her best friend and boyfriend (whom she is only dating because her dad set them up, PUKE)

Niki lives in California and she eventually meets Jesse.. They are instantly attracted to one another but Niki is hesitant because Jesse is alllll bad boy and she is not only afraid for her heart but she is also scared of the feelings she feels for him.

Its instant and magnetic

This is where I was kind of turned off because the love didn't have much build up, it was like one week they were just talking and then the next they were falling in love with one another.
Of course something does happen and they end up not together but even that kind of annoyed me because Niki was being overly dramatic about the whole thing and then she went back to being in love with Jesse, it was frustrating!

The dialogue was also a put off for me, a lot of it didn't flow and I was bored a couple of times while reading.

This book ends on a cliffhanger that I didn't see coming so I hope to find out what happens in the next book so my questions can be answered.

The book is very fast-pace and easy to read but there are times where it was slow.

There are a couple hot sex scenes that left me feeling a little wonton but it was so sexy.

Like I said before, I need to read the rest of the books in the series before I rate it because there are some questions left unanswered and the cliffhanger of course, I did not see coming until it hit me in the face!!

SO I will edit this review when the next installment is out

For now if you enjoy an instant love, bad boy, hot sex, cliffhangers, and motocross then read this book..
The next installment is set to be released in August

More like a 3.25 star rating.. As there was a disconnect in this story for me I don't know why but it felt long in the beginning and then wham it was over.. Not sure if I would read the next one

Jesse Morrison is on his own path of destruction, drinking, partying, and sleeping with anything with touching distance. After he gets shipped to his Uncle's to get a reality check, Jesse finds himself smitten fr the first time in his life.

Niki Milani has a "safe' boyfriend but it doesn't stop her from having mixed feelings about Jesse. Niki is trying to branch out away from her father's control and find her own path. Jesse makes it clear to Niki, boyfriend or not he wants her to be his.

What starts off as a destructive story with Jesse turns into a bad boy reformed romance. Niki is an interesting character, she is a bit mixed in her behavior but it works with Jesse who is changing in his own way. Looks to be a great series.

This book was a free download and I was super excited to read it....and then I was bored to tears until almost half way through. The book itself was decent enough, after you get past the beginning. I guess I just didn't understand why it took so long for the main characters to meet. If the author had cut the beginning, or narrowed it down majorly, and focused more on the main couple together, I probably wouldnt have spent the first half skimming for something to catch my attention. I will say that it did have quite a cliffhanger at the end that has got me debating on purchasing the next one. I am hesitant for fear that it will be half a book of uselessness and another cliffhanger luring me into buying the next one.
