This installment was more entertaining than the first, and the art got a little better and more consistent.

Falls a little flat compared to the novel, but if you've read the novel and are looking for a quick refresher with some beautiful artwork, I would absolutely recommend this book. I grew up loving the Percy Jackson series, so I like the idea of graphic novels expanding the story to new audiences.

The art at least got better, however, I wouldn't say that is was always great. At times it just looked really ugly. The story was decent, but I felt like I was missing things, like I have to know all these things beforehand. It was also really rushed. Which is logical, they can't put everything in there (or well they could, if they wanted). I really liked the addition of Tyson in this one, and Annabeth was awesome.

The art in this book is actually a step up! Most of the time the characters look their age and there are less extremely cursed panels. Also the color artist is different and it really improves the lightning and overall feel of the art. The graphic novel format still feels a little rushed but overall a big improvement from the last one.

This was definitely and improvement from the first volume! The art style got a bit better (though all the main characters still look like 30 year olds) and it actually hit all the important plot points!

But yet it’s still missing the humor. Dang.
