Interesting, but annoying mostly because the kids were named Brit and Bran. Sounds like cereal or fibers or something.

We have Mom I believe she’s in her 30s, Bran 16, and Britt 12…maybe 13. They live in a rough neighborhood in Florida, but Bran got a house sitter job from a Mr. Marquis while they visit their family in New York, so they all excitedly move into this new home for a while…until Britt starts noticing Bran’s weird behavior such as getting rid of the Marquis’ silverware, and pictures in which he packs up and tells Britt he doesn’t want anything damaged while they house sit but that’s just the beginning.

This was a good short thrilling book with so many twists and turns.

Another youth book I just picked up for fun. It was alright--slightly predictable, but then again it's for kids.

This is one of the books I would reccomend for long time readers, becuase it twists and turns in suprising ways that you can't really forsee.
Britt is a young teen just trying to have some fun. Her older brother Brandon is the responsible, stable kid, while she is the out of control one. Brandon has always been there for her, every step of the way, even when their father left them.
But there is something Britt doesn't know about Brandon, and he might not be as responsible as he seems. After they move into a new house for the summer though, all is forgotten for a while. That is until Brandon starts acting wierd again. What is it that Brandon is hiding and what was it exactly that made her mother run away from home when she was young?

a possible choice for a new battle book - family issues. A decent mystery though it reads more as realistic fiction.

Haddix has addicting writing. I hate that single mom trope most intensely, but what an MC! Brief, short, heartwarming.

I loved the unpredictable plot twists! Really? Really! Fast, enjoyable, entertaining. The perfect book to keep you enchanted but is short enough that your house doesn't fall apart while reading it.
