Light, bite-sized thriller. Clever concept and nice imagery and voice. One of Duane's best.

Some books strive to transcend their genres by bring new concepts to the genre. This book is not one of those. Instead this is a book that transcends it’s genre by simply being everything the genre is suppose to be. There’s excitement, umor, likable characters, violence galore, and some clever twists to keep things fresh. The pace never bogs down and never lets up. A thrill from start to finish…what more can you ask from a thriller?

Goofy fun, like the literary equivalent of a Fast & Furious movie. Rating it 4 stars on that scale, as the book achieved exactly what it set out to be. If you want a book that seems like it was written by James Bond after he did a sack of cocaine, then you are in for a great time. If not, then you are in for a bad time.

Reminded me of Crooked Little Vein by Ellis but not quite as disturbing or graphic. While it nearly stretches the limits of credulity it managed to never cross the line to 'oh come on!'. There were a number of sequences that had me laugh out loud to the point of getting looks from folks sitting near by - "I'm nearsighted." Priceless.

If you are looking for an entertaining, escapist book you can read in a matter of hours and enjoy books by Michael Connelly or John D McDonald then you will not be disappointed.

Really lucked out in reading this and the wheelman in the right order. Made the first one more satisfying. The same amount of tension and some really funny moments mixed with an even crazier premise and lots of action movie violence. I'm in love.

This book half-heartedly tried to engage my suspension of disbelief, making the plot seem pretty cliched and cheesy. My edition included a follow up short story and that was even worse...

Swierczynski's books seem to always start with a real bang. In this case, a guy gets picked up in a bar by a woman who tells him she has poisoned him, and only she has the antidote to the poison. There's a lot of action here, and it happens fast -- the book takes place in a single day -- but the characters never really jelled for me.

This book so far is a cheesy crime? mystery? novel. I'm going to finish it because I want to know what happens but so far I'm not impressed. Why do I insist on trying out genre fiction when I know I often don't like it.
Incredibly crazy original concept. I emphasize crazy more than original. If you can overlook the many typos, and grammar mistakes, not to mention the few story inconsistencies, then this is an EASY dramatic read.
Don't recommend it though. Not that good. Although the quotes about blondes beginning each section are funny.
