Soft DNF for now, may return. There is a lot of Spanish thrown into this and it feels over the top.

Far less cats than I'd hoped, but good enough to want to read the next book.

Sometimes an old experienced SF reader can dip into the Teen section. This wasn't one of those times.
The story here is an absolutely generic found-family eking-out-a-living-on-a-battered-spaceship, with the expected bad guys trapping them into doing risky things. There's the external-threat-kill-you-all guy who never quote catches them, and of course there's a crew member in love with her whywontshenotice? Does she withhold info from her crew? Of course she does.
Like every story of this kind, there's snark and some humour, and here it's as good as any.
But the characters are kinda blah, we don't learn much about any of them, and I couldn't get interested in what happened to any of them.
The horny rich guy was amusing but way over the top.
We have the usual blasting-out-of-the-spaceport-against-orders, then we get several episodes of risky deliveries. It's clear there will be several more. That's when I bailed. I have a tall to-read stack this month.
There's potential here, but this just felt like a preliminary exercise in which the author had to prove she could write this story. OK, you can. Now let's hear your own new direction.
