I enjoyed this book quite a bit. It was not quite as good as Torkel's chosen but I think that is more my preferences. The writing is still great and the twists you don't see coming to leave you pining for the next book. Arak and Sylvie are a sweet couple. I am glad they got their happily ever after. On a side note, I hope Arak's dad gets one too.

Soooooo. This book is better than the first, and if you look at my review of the first I was worried I would be disappointed if I continued reading the series, but it was easy to listen to while i was working. We still lack world building ! It needs more detail so we can fully immerse ourselves in the story. Like I said, it was better than the first book, which did make me angry at points. This book had a lot of action but not not too much detail. The character relationship development happened off screen, so to speak, but I did like the idea of a shifter alien . If you can really call them aliens though? They are so similar to humans and what we read of how they do live are very similar to humans apart for cleansing units and medical healing. I understand some people want/need there aliens to be very human-like but.... I like my monsters and aliens to be just that! Aliens and monsters. I did like the 2 main characters and how the book is intertwined with the characters from the last book.i would have also like more details on the capture , treatment of the women before the guys essentially came to the rescue.
The next book is about lindsey which I will probably listen to when I need to get some work done next week, to just to find out what happens with her. But I can already predict how the story will go and even how the series will end, so im not sure I'll continue with the series after lindseys book but we will see.

Another quick read but super good as well. I love the alien world building.

This was a good solid sci-fi romance with a good amount of action. Minus side the last 5 chapters kinda killed it for me. I felt like they were crammed full with a lead into the next book and random romance scenes. Basically like a box of left overs and add ons that should have been integrated into the book better. However I will say leading up to that point was pretty good.

So sweet. Glad that one plot wrapped up, though it wasn't the gut punch it could have been. Howard took care to make this book wholesome.

It wasn't awful, but certain things fell a little flat for me. Also definitely needed an editor or at least prpofreader, there were some weird errors. Still better than book one that I couldn't even finish.
