This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I received this book for free from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. I have read quite a few of Bella’s books now and I am really becoming quite the fan. The Promise of Summer easily caught my attention from the very first chapter.

Ruby is our main character but her boat and friend Kim also has a very large part to play in this book and I would say she could be classed as more than a support character.

Ruby is quite sick of dating losers. I really liked Ruby. She has that sort of personality that makes her easy to be around and injects the fun into life.

Kim has really been through it in life and I so wanted things to work out for her. She deserves a bit of love and happiness.

Now I have to talk about Curtis. Oh, what a character he is. He is funny without releasing it sometimes and he has a good heart. He is a little socially awkward but when you get to know him he really comes out of his shell.

I flew through all 416 pages of this book in a very short time. It was very easy to read and very hard to put down. The characters are relatable, the writing is witty and emotional. It was a real treat to read and I can’t wait for more from Bella.

Thank you to Avon for my copy of this book via Netgalley and to Rachel for letting me take part in this tour.

The really enjoyed the Ruby and Curtis side of this story. They are both very likeable and Curtis is a very interesting main character. I found myself really not caring much about Kim’s side of the story and tended to sometimes skim those parts to get back to the Ruby-Curtis story. I mostly enjoyed the ending, but maybe felt just a bit disappointing not to have more romantic interaction with Ruby and Curtis right at the end. Overall I thought this was a fun, sweet story.
Thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books for allowing me access to this eARC for my honest opinion!

This book was a little over the top and implausible for me. You have to put all common sense aside to understand how Ruby and Curtis end up together. With that being said, I did find the book to have some funny scenes as well as a few sad ones. Overall, I was rolling my eyes a lot but found it ok at the end.

A summertime read to put a smile on your face!

Ruby Edwards' jaded after dating too many losers so when she sits next to a man on a train who reveals his plan to propose to his girlfriend, her belief in romance is restored… until the man disappears from the train… with her phone. Only, Ruby finds the engagement ring under her seat, determined to reunite it with its owner. However, the passenger sitting nearby has conflicting ideas on how to tackle the evolving situation…

Ruby's friend, Kim runs a florists' shop and is single too. She also wants some romance in her life, but her situation turns on its head when someone from her past shows up unexpectedly!

This is my first Bella Osborne novel and it's a delight. Included are numerous plot lines, yet the narrative flows seamlessly, as we follow Ruby on her journey to a happily ever after. Expect highs and lows along the way creating a story that's both heart-warming and heartfelt. Prepare to laugh out loud and shed a tear or two as she, along with Kim confront life issues head-on as they venture along paths of discovery, in the search for love.

The award for the most unlikely romantic hero goes to Curtis. He's the perfect match for bubbly and vibrant Ruby, in his own unique way. He's socially awkward; a planner who feels more comfortable with a spreadsheet. He's the voice of reason, both diluting and complementing Ruby's impulsive actions. Together, they make an adorable couple in an unconventional way.

The secondary characters are an eclectic mix of loveable and rogue as well as the addition of the four-legged canine variety called Boomerang! Blended together, they all contribute to the emotional catalogue of events and the eventual satisfying results.

To sum up, The Promise Of Summer is a delightful and engaging novel and a perfect summer read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for providing a free ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was a lovely story that hit all the notes I look for when I sit down to read a book like this. I enjoyed how the characters came to know each other, and how their lives evolved after that. The multiple storylines made this an entertaining and fast read that pushed me to devour this one in a few sittings. I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting a fun, lighthearted escape with a little romance and quirky antics thrown in for good measure.

Really fun and heart-warming story, loved to see the main charachters development and chemistry. I loved both Ruby and Curtis from the beginning! the differences in their personalities, it really made the story more interesting and eager for to see and read how it ends for them. I also enjoyed the following of the side-charachters which doesn't always happen for me. In this story it felt right and this contains various themes, which intertwine perfectly! romance, heart-breaks, hopes and dreams, friendships, grieving... there were also turns/plot-twists in the story I didn't predict, which I prefer in reading!
