I expected this book to be good. I got to hear Sepetys talk about it in person and I knew it was going to go hard.

I did not expect a line about cremation to break me completely.

Ruta Sepetys never fails to please! this book was soo enthralling. my favorite parts of the book were the times where the KGB (not sure the name of the spy network, sorry!) would ride reports on him as they had been tracking him. also, i couldn’t believe that Mama was a traitor! i loved this book so much.
