i liked this book, but I also liked the movie.
And it didn't really matter to me that it won a ton of razzies. I thought it was an entertaining movie that showed the difficult and often seedy life of showgirls.
So the book didn't change my mind about the movie, but it gave me an interesting new perspective and included many thoughtful and thought-provoking insights

Thank God I didn't read this during my dissertation or there could be some credible plagiarism threats coming my way. Either way, always love reading about this weird dumb film, the depths will never be fully plumbed.

Well this was fun! Reading about bad movies is almost as fun as actually watching them. I was completely ignorant of the history behind the film when I first saw it, maybe 20 years after it was released and thought it was fascinatingly awful! I’ve since seen it again and enjoyed the great documentary “You Don’t Nomi”, it’s really interesting seeing the different perspectives on this film. It doesn’t suck, indeed!
