Gli ultimi giorni non riuscivo a trovare un momento per dedicarmi alla lettura. Completare l’ultimo centinaio di pagine mi è sembrato un traguardo irraggiungibile, ma non per questo da perseguire con meno convinzione ed interesse.
Secondo me il cerchio della storia e del messaggio di ogni libro si chiude dopo aver letto il finale. Questo più che mai vale per "Dona Flor e i suoi due mariti”.
Che dire di chi, più o meno consapevolmente, accetta, per il proprio benessere, di vivere uno stile di vita fondato, al contempo, sulla morigeratezza e sulla trasgressione?
A dire il vero suscitano riflessione anche le situazioni di chi sceglie uno stile di vita fondato unicamente sulla morigeratezza o sulla trasgressione.
Non vi anticipo nulla su cosa Dona Flor sceglie. Vi invito ad andarlo a scoprire, anche perché le sfumature che Jorge Amado sa cogliere possono suscitare in ciascuno lettore impressioni diverse.

Lungo, molto lungo e a tratti noioso. Tre stelle le merita per i momenti in cui si riesce a percepire profondamente l’amore tra i primi due coniugi, un’amore che persiste nonostante le bugie, le sofferenze e anche la morte.

Il finale, dove lui è un fantasma, mi ha letteralmente fatta morire dalle risate.
