The premise of this sounded fantastic - a combination of romance and suspense as the newly found fated mates had to work together to solve a murder. The end result wasn’t so fantastic in my opinion. It’s not very romantic nor is there much suspense or mystery to the storyline.

The male character, Lachlan, is described as sexy and hot as can be; however, he is overprotective and smothering to the Esme, a woman he just met a few days ago! His solution to every situation is to hire people and throw huge sums of money at it and buy something.

Esme, is a beautiful train wreck of a young woman. She’s impulsive and opinionated, determined to expose fraudsters and charlatans after her mother lost all her money trying to speak to her dead father. She comes from a powerful and rich family, but avoids them because she can’t shift into her wolf.

This story starts with an accidental meeting in the street where Lachlan gives Esme a front row ticket to his new Vegas magic show for the next night. The rest of the book is fast-paced. In the midst of the chaos they have world shaking sex. The entire story seems to have taken place in a matter of 3-5 days.

Very little character development, no emotional connection between Lachlan and Esme, just world shaking sex, and him throwing his billions around. I feel like the author tried to put too much into the story - fated mates, wolf shifters and one who couldn’t shift, a murder mystery/thriller, his second sight and more.
