I love the way Ms. Salas uses clever illustrations and a easily understood text to teach school aged children about the phases of the moon. The pictures are gorgeous and will capture the attention of both preschool and school aged children. This would be a great sibling read.

I really liked this. On one hand, the book tells a fanciful idea of the jobs our moon has, but on the other there is additional information that offers a more complete understanding of our relationship with the moon. I found the illustrations beautiful and it made me want to read this with someone.

If You Were the Moon combines a simple bedtime story with astronomy by comparing everyday children's activities with facts about the moon and its role. Beautiful illustrations will help hold a child's attention while an adult explains the science to them on each page. Designed for active reading, this would work well for bedtime reading for kindergartners and older, or in a classroom setting.

I received this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This sweet picture book about the moon has darling illustrations and additional nonfiction information about the moon as asides on each two-page spread. I'm not usually a big fan of asides in picture books, but in this one it wasn't too jarring.

This is a non fiction book wrapped in a picture book. It's about the job of the moon. The info bits are fun, but a distraction. That being said, I could stare at the illustrations for hours.
