I read this in one day. It was great to learn of Sin's past to know how he turned out the way he did and how he over came things. Oh and the twist with Olina very sneaky sneaky loved it. But Kelly you are driving me bonkers with your teasers of Olandon and who he likes from the Bruma ugh it is driving me crazy.

This book in one sentence: This spin-off from the Tainted Accords series focusses on Sin and Olorna's love-hate romance.
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐
Steaminess: 🌶️🌶️
Would I recommend: Despite the terrible cover (it doesn't look anything like the character's description, and it doesn't match the beautiful esthetic of the other Tainted Accord books) it's worth reading if you enjoyed the original series. The romance-friendship is a little under developed, but I enjoyed seeing how events played out after the resolution of Fantasy of Freedom.
Tropes: enemies-to-lovers
Content warnings: domestic abuse

HOLY SHIT it's AWESOME !!
I loved the Tainted Accords series and I must admit that I was SOO curious to know a little more about Sin and the woman who would manage to make him succumb =) I was SO not disappointed =D
The universe is still addictive and well-structured (it was interesting to see that even if there is a new Tatum, everything was not immediately back to normal in Osolis !), the writting style is great and I LOVED the different characters (especially Olorna and Sin of course =D) which are far from the usual clichés and which over the course of the book became more and more complex and endearing ><
My only regret : I need the book with Olandon quickly =D
In short, if you liked the Tainted Accords series (and if you don't know it, YOU MUST READ IT !!), this book is for you =D

But I want you to know if you choose me, I will make you the happiest woman alive. I will feed you, I will clothe you, and I will protect you.
Sin was a cute short story about a character that had everyone swooning in the Tainted Accords series, Sin. Albeit short, it was deeply entertaining and I liked having a different POV than Olina. Sin is still his funny, vain self, but he now lives on Osolis, having followed Olina there.

I've always liked his character, and I wish this book had been longer because it definitely needed more development for the story to be believable. Of course, it is a novella so I knew what to expect. Even though I didn't love it and I found the romance to be a little superficial, I still liked being back in this world and seeing all these characters again.

Sin was a sweet story, he gets to have his happy ending and we do get to learn a bit more about him and his past. His heroine, Olorna, wasn't my favorite in the way that we don't know her and this book doesn't really help. I'm sure if it had been longer, I'd have liked her because she was funny despite her shyness and, by the end, knew what she wanted and went for it.

Olorna's mother, however, had me in tears. The woman is funny and the way Kelly St. Clare wrote her character is perfect. One thing I enjoyed too was going back to St. Clare's writing style, I love it. She writes the funniest scenes when it shouldn't even be remotely funny and she has a way with words.

I am looking forward to read the rest of the novellas, especially Rhone and Shard. If you haven't read this series yet, I highly recommend it.

How can you not love Sin? I was a fan during the fights, specifically I fell in love at his reaction to being KO'd by Olina. Having a novella dedicated to him was PERFECT to really bring his personality into focus though.

I think I REALLY loved him though from this moment in Oscalis, where he thought Olina had a man in her bed AND demanded (as her valet) she change into purple robes.
He thought over what he’d just seen.
Olina . . . the twinkle in her eyes, the cheerful grin.
Stomach dropping, he looked at the bed behind him, taking in the sight of the disheveled sheets. His breath whooshed from his lungs as he nearly doubled over in. . .shock? Anger? Heart-wrenching disappointment? Sin’s mind whirled so quickly, he didn’t know what he felt.
“Your king arrived last night,” she called.
A sharp inhale caught in his throat, and he coughed a few times. She rounded the screen dressed in the pale purple robes. Much better.

Then, she informed him about her choice. His mind exploded and I loved him AGAIN.
"Hell, there were tears balancing on her lower lids. And yet, something bloomed in his chest. The weight in his stomach when he saw the rumpled sheets had disappeared.
He needed to be sure.
“You’re giving all of this up.” He gestured around. “Your title, your people, your power . . . to be with one man.”

But he never lost his vulgar charisma, charm, or dirty mind.
“Dear Blizzard, I do not discriminate against the Inner and Middle rings. I’ll enter any ring—as I like to say.”
Ice spat out a laugh. “That’s a good one.”
“Thank you.”

I could go on and on.... and ON about Sin, but I'd just bascially be re-writting the book in my review so I'll stop here and admit I'd die for Sin.

The end :-)

Meh? Honestly not really a fan of Sin. I think in the end I would have liked this better if he and Olorna spent more time together talking and getting to know each other before falling in love.

Sin is a must read!

I have read all of the Tainted Accords series, and I looked forward to this novella. It's one of those books that you just want to keep reading. Sin is Olina's valet but desires to me more than that. The war is over and it's time for a new adventure. St. Clare definitely knows how to write a story and more than that, bring the reader right in. To read this story, the reader must have read the first four books before this, in order to grasp the worlds and turmoil of Osolis and Glacium, but each book is worth the read. I really love the strength of Olina but this new story has me setting my sights on Sin.

Kelly St. Clare has done it again! I am a huge fain of the Tainted Accords series and The Retreat! her writing style has an incredible flow and accessibility that I thoroughly enjoy. Now let's talk about Sin! Ooo la la! I loved this bad boy the first time he appeared in the Tainted Accords and for very good reason! What can I say, I've got a soft spot for cocky, good-looking, bad-boy types with hearts of gold! Seriously give this a read, it is fantastic! What fun! Can't wait for more from the amazing St. Clare!
