Interesting topic, but little effort is made to make the technical parts accessible, let alone interesting.

Excellent exposition.

(But your mileage may vary of course. I suppose that having a PH.D. in a somewhat different area of graph theory did help me a bit...)

Excellent introducing to the traveling salesman problem and nice overview of discrete optimization. Wished I had read it sooner!
