This collection of poetries I would describe as surreal, mysterious, and engaging. My favorite pieces are "the supernatural subjunctive", "you are what you eat", "making time", "prevailing winds", and "de omnibus dubitandum". On some of the pieces, i keep thinking that its just a jumble of visual words that doesnt go together, but maybe thats just me not knowing how to read poetry well. Either way, all the poetries are very imaginative and surreal and thats very interesting.

Disclaimer: I got this book through the LibraryThing Early Reader program.

This is a short ebook (16 poems) which I read in the Kindle version on my iPad ($4.99 at amazon). It is available in other formats, also. I read it a second time before writing this.

I really like the cover image; it is quite beautiful and a good choice for this work.

I'm not yet sure how I feel about the poems as a whole; I did like a couple of them in their entirety, especially "You Are What You Eat," with an epigraph by Carl Sagan, and "Dark Matter." Even more, though, I loved many of her images and phrasings. Kamins has a way with words which I'll be keeping an eye on in the future.

"I've heard it said the electrons that dance through the dark streets of your existence whistle a song you would recognize if you could hear it." From "Prevailing Winds"

"What look like wishes
are the inverse shadows of stars." From "De Omnibus Dubitandum"

"Visible to the naked eye like Venus
lounging over a truck stop at this hour
is the thing I recognize like a stranger
whose face I know whose name I don't
evaporating like evening into the
vanishing stars." From "Redshifting"

Her imagery is quite strong and I enjoyed her tying of the cosmological to the mundane.

I recommend checking these poems out.
