Exactly what I want from a Jacquelyn Frank book.

I enjoyed learning about the Shadowdweller politics and culture. The romance was just ok. Because of ghe circumstances of the romance's origins (not based in reality) I found it lacked depth. I really like the Chancellors and their relationships with their bodyguards and servants. I look forward to reading the next in the series.

This book seemed really slow at the beginning but I guess that is always the way when building a fantasy world. I liked Trace and Ashla and was glad they ended up together. There are lots of questions yet to be answered but I guess that is why there are more books in the series.

I think it would have helped to read the Nightwalkers series first because I felt a bit lost at the beginning. I enjoyed it the story once I caught on to the Shadowdwellers world.

Not your typical romance novel. Loved how unusual it was. I remembered it out of many romance novels I'd read and searched it out to read it again. I'm not disappointed either.

Despite the somewhat cliff hanger ending (What ARE their marriage rites like? Change in skin tone?), the book was enjoyable and I'll definitely continue on in the series.

I kept waiting for this book to catch my attention. I kept waiting... and waiting... This is my second book my Jacquelyn Frank. I just think I'm not a fan of her writing style.

This was not so bad. I really like the world building. The culture is a little much, but it is called Ecstasy. Anyway, I like the characters and the little plots that are not answered yet. Makes you want to read more of the books. I also like that a Nightwalker, Gideon, was introduced, whom I understand has a book in the Nightwalker series. I'm pretty excited to read that series too. All in all, I liked the book and will definitely read the rest of the series.
