I have officially read all of Riley Sager's books!

I loved how this consistently switched POVs throughout the entire book. The ending was not at all what I had expected and I had guessed 2 or 3 times and all were wrong

A twisty well written story that has a book within the book. What’s not to like?! Riley Sager is becoming one of my must read authors. He keeps me trying to figure things out yet not really caring if I do or not. I’m just enjoying the ride.

I don’t know what to think about this book, but it was an entertaining book, full of shallow characters

DNF at 111 pages.

Folks, I just can't be bothered to finish this book. It's not scary, it's not thrilling, it's not engaging, it's just another bog-standard haunted house story with way too much going on that only seems to remember the horror elements at the end of each chapter. Originally my main motivation for finishing it was to see how it ended, but then I was reminded that spoiler reviews exist, so I promptly yeeted all motivation out the window along with any hope of reading another Riley Sager novel. This isn't bad, but for a horror fan like me this is supremely underwhelming and not at all frightening. Read if you want, but I'm done.

Riley sager never lets me down.

I loved that it was almost like a book inside of another book so it was like reading two books at once.

And of course I loved how he had me guessing back and forth all the way up until the end. Even after reading 3/5 of his books and thinking I could figure it out because I'm familiar with his writing/story telling style he still throws me for a loop.

“Every house has a story. Ours is a ghost story. It’s also a lie. And now that yet another person has died within these walls, it’s finally time to tell the truth.”

After her father's passing, Maggie inherits the House of Horrors from her childhood, the Baneberry Hall.
