I continued this series with the audiobook version. I really love the narrator. She gives Kricket so much life. I'm still loving every mintue of it. And yes, I still love Kyon, jerk that he is. I know he loves her in his way. Even if he is egotistical and controlling. I have a feeling that there will be much more revealed about him in book three. Fast paced, energetic, and awesome this series will keep you interested and challenged the entire ride. It will make you laugh, make you smile, make you swoon, and get your heart racing.

This sequel book did a nice job of continuing the story of Kricket and Ethar. I really enjoy this world because it’s similar to earth, but different enough that there is still some magic in it. While I liked that aspect of the story, I had a hard time focusing while reading this book. I think the pacing wasn’t quite right. I found myself losing interest, and I felt like the first half of the book moved very slowly. I also felt like Kricket and Charisma’s relationship was very disingenuous.

UGH! THAT ENDING THOUGH

I still liked this book and this series but Kricket seemed to be more serious than her fun and sassy self?!? Maybe that's just me. I still hate Kyon so freaking much. I AM STILL IN LOVE WITH TREY. I will continue to ship Trey and Kricket - I don't care what anyone says, they are perfect for each other and a god damn goal of a couple.

I have no idea what the third book will be about and I don't want to know until I have it in my hands or on my kindle OR if I freaking find time to read it in my endless pile of books. I'm glad that Sea of Stars didn't become a second book tragedy and I'm definitely in it for the long haul. I hope that the third book doesn't break my heart or my soul.

The only part of this book that bugged me was Trey saying "I'll never let you go" and right after he says that she's whisked away by the enemy. This happens multiple times in the same battle scene. Like come on dude

That's about all I can manage at this point. Kricket is my favorite! She has such a depth to her and is a wonderful and strong female character. My heart was continuously thumping from everything that happened. Dang you, Amy Bartol for ending it like that. When the heck does book 3 come out??

This installment was arguably worse than the first-truly nothing happens, except maybe now sex is in the mix? This book is another stinker, but I issue partial forgiveness for being an easy read.

In this second book, we are still beaten over the head with how truly hot all characters in the book are, but especially Trey and Kricket.

That's pretty much the whole book. It's basically crap, but I'll read the third one dutifully on my next flight NYC.

I recommend this to people who have read the first book and actually liked it, or those who feel compelled to keep reading even after the first installment, or those who simply read to reinforce their loathing of reading.

Even Better

So I thought Under Different Stars was good . . . Sea of Stars was even better. And I am excited to start Darken the Stars.

So there will be spoilers. Do not keep reading unless you want to read spoilers. I am about to unleash some fury right here....

Let's get on with it.

OMFG THIS BOOK! Let me just say that I have never been so angry as when I realized Kricket's father is still alive. What a douchecanoe. DOUCHECANOE!!!!!! Who the FUCK leaves their daughter on a separate world, alone and abandoned for a freaking prophecy?! This douche-nugget apparently saves one child and leaves the other. I have to say right now, that I am feeling some full on HATRED for her parents. Her mom leaves one child to grow up with the Alameeda, and I definitely couldn't abandon my kid for some man no matter how much I loved him. Secondly, her dad leaves her. Just flat out leaves her. Did he have any clue what would happen to her? YES because they lived on earth, and he still freaking left her. I hate him, I'm sure in the next book he'll be some nice guy, but I will still hate him. I hope Trey hands him his ass. He deserves a serious ass-kicking...

I feel bad for Astrid, because it wasn't her choice to leave Kricket behind, and it seems like she's been trying to find her for years. However, Kricket's resentment is totally understandable. I would resent the shit out of Astrid. What's so great about her that she got to grow up with her people and world while Kricket got nearly forced into prostitution because of Dan.

I loved this book even this rant aside, honestly a huge kudos to Amy Bartol for making me feel so passionate on Kricket's behalf that I am irately angry even 2 hours after finishing this book. Seriously 5 out of 5 stars, and I have to go stalk book 3 now. I need an ARC copy like yesterday.
