Jane Fonda

Jane Fonda is a fascinating woman. After I read the book, I watched her documentary on HBO Max, Jane Fonda in Five Acts. It's excellent!

What an icon! I grew to love Jane Fonda in her movies like 9 to 5 and Book Club, and of course Grace and Frankie. But I didn't know how much of an activist she was (and still is)! The craziest thing I learned was that the FBI had a file on her!! I would love if she would write another book detailing more of her recent acting career.

I always knew Jane Fonda as the pretty woman who seems to be self absorbed and did the exercise videos. I'm in my late 50's so in my early teens when she was an activist so I wasn't really aware of that phase. This autobiography sure showed me a different side of Ms. Fonda. I took it upon myself to read it because I was enjoying her Netflix show Grace and Frankie. I was really astounded to found out she started the workout videos to earn money for her husband's cause.

Will add my review soon.

Jane Fonda is a remarkable woman and this memoir is an extremely personal and well written account of an incredible life. I was so touched by the humility in this book and the details that I may have thought I knew. Her story of being a strong beautiful independant woman and still struggling with problems with self-image and wanting to please others (especially men) is very pertinent.

Very inspiring and brave woman who discovers herself after 3 marriages and a lifetime of changing herself for her men.
