Okay, so this was actually a really great read! I was worried that I would be confused about this world, seeing as I'm starting on book 19, but it wasn't just easy to follow but also Sands made sure to explain everything in a way that wasn't info-dumpy at all. The few things that confused me were all cleared out throughout the book, yet never felt like they were there TO clear up the confusion, which is wonderful.

I found Sands writing to be captivating and flowing, which sucked me right into the book and made me finish it in a day!

Although, that gulping of the novel is also due to the characters. First of all, we have Jake. I loved this guy. He was sweet and dedicated and honest, and he owned to his mistakes and past grievances. He didn't hide or refuse to acknowledge them or take any hits to the ego by apologizing--more than once. I loved when a male character is "allowed" to do that, because often time it seems like in books a man isn't manly if he's not grappling with saying sorry which is absolutely ridiculous and I don't get it???

Then we have Nicole. She was pretty badass. I loved how everyone kind of thought her to be this helpless girl stuck in denial after what her ex did to her, but she wasn't and she proved everyone wrong big time. She was level-headed, sweet and dedicated and I actually loved that
the culprit ended up having nothing to do with her. It would have been heartbreaking if it was her bro, although I really hope he gets out of that toxic relationship.

And at the end of the day, this didn't feel like insta love despite the real short time span of the book. I feel like Nicole's final words to Jake are what makes it what it is - she doesn't just love him, but she likes and respects him. And that may sound less than the former, but it really isn't.

Also, I loved the family dynamics between everyone. They made me smile and want to read all of their books!!

I have always wanted to read this series and a few of the latest books (18 to 21) are on sale on amazon right now so I picked the one that sounded the most interesting to try out (I mean, a male housekeeper who is also a vamp??). The synopsis has such a strong standalone series vibe so I'm hoping I'll be able to read this one without feeling totally lost :)

When it comes to author Lynsay Sands, I am a sucker for the story! I absolutely adore her writing, characters and plot lines. You would think after 19 books in a series I would grow bored with it. Sadly, it just makes me crave more from her!

With One Lucky Vampire we get to read about Jake Colson and Nicole Phillips. Jake you might remember as Stephano Notte from A Bite To Remember. He was turned by Vincent in that book in order to save his life. To say that he isn’t happy with being turned is an understatement. While he is glad to be alive, he did end up leaving his family behind to try and adjust on his own and in his own way. When Marguerite asks Jake to help protect a friend of the family, Jake is nudged back into the family unit and accepts the job as a housekeeper/cook while actually being a bodyguard for Nicole.

Nicole has been through the ringer. Her previous husband was guy who would rather spend her money than spend time with his wife. He has made attempts on her life trying to get her money instead of losing it in a divorce. She hires Jake as a housekeeper/cook to help her out while she finishes up her work in the art world.

With everything that takes place in this book between Jake and Nicole, I found the side characters of Dante and Tomasso to be my favorite. They had some of the best lines in this book that left me laughing each time they opened their mouths!

I loved how they always called him Pinocchio in the story. There is a reason why they call him this and it is one of the main reasons why Jake was unhappy about being turned and why he ran from his family. Even with the jokes they throw Jake’s way, Dante and Tomasso truly love Jake and would love to have him back into the family fold. I love how they end up having Nicole be the one person who saves Jake instead of the other way around.

If you are a fan of the Argeneau series, then this book should be a must buy book for you. It brings back the feel of earlier books but also keeps it progressing for the entire series. Keep them coming!

Culprit comes out of left field. Completely unexpected - which is always fun. Another fun pairing and enjoyable (plus hot 2.5 peppers) read.

It's been a good minute since I read a book by Lynsay Sands. I can honestly say that I don't love them as much as I used to. It's kind of disappointing because I still have a lot of book from this series that I need to read. I will still read them though, because even though I didn't love it as much as I did, I still enjoyed myself.

I still love the scientific parts of this series. I love the nanos and I love that they originated from Atlantis. I think that is so creative. I love how there's an explanation for everything. The fangs, the eyesight, the hearing, etc. It's not very often I've come across a vampire book that was scientifically explained.

I enjoyed the book. All the way until the ending. I was not a fan whatsoever with how it ended. How is the bad guy going to be someone that nobody even cares about? That's some kind of BS.

So, I really loved Jake. I loved that he his undercover as a cook/housekeeper to keep Nicole safe. I really liked that he didn't intentionally go there but on a favor for the amazing Marguerite, the matchmaker. I really had fun with seeing their relationship grow. I just didn't see how Nicole was okay with the immortals as fast as she was. I feel like she should have put up some resistance for that knowledge.

All in all, I think it was really enjoyable. I just hated the ending and hated Nicole's reasoning for the immortals and being instantly okay with them. If those were different, I would have given the book at least a 4.5.

Another fabulous read from Lynsay Sands. She’s created a hilarious, fun series with loveable, sexy, memorable characters. Jake has never fully accepted his turn, he became a vampire not really by choice. He’s isolated himself from his family but when they need help he’s there to assist. Nicole is a successful portrait painter who is weeks from a divorce. With strange, possibly deadly, occurrences at her home Jake comes in a pseudo protection. She thinks she’s getting a cook/housekeeper but he’s really serving as bodyguard. The attraction is simmering between them but will Jake be able to open up to Nicole and to let her know about his true self? Really fun read but not recommended to start with. Because this is such a long running series (nineteen books and counting) the secondary characters who contribute to the story could be confusing if you don’t know them. Since I’ve enjoyed this series for years this was just another fun read from a favorite paranormal author. Great read!

~ 3 Lucky Stars ~

One Lucky Vampire is book 19 in the Argeneau series by Lynsasy Sands. I like a cute fun light romance. I have enjoyed the Angeneau Series from the beginning. Some of the books are better then others, but the series has not brought anything new into the mix.

One Lucky Vampire was an enjoyable sweet read. Not as funny as some of the other books in the series. Nicole is sweet, has a surprising naughty side, and is Jake's lifemate so he must reveal the immortal world to her and explain what he is. Jake is a nice guy, but he abandons his family after they showed him nothing but love and patience, which was a little childish on his part. Jake needs a great woman to show him the error of his ways and Nicole needs a man that will cherish not use her and that's exactly what both get.

The thing with this series is that the couples don't have the same spark and impact as the ones in the earlier books. In the end it was repetitive. Nothing new and exciting happens. The series feels to me at an end.
