My bias regarding dwarves aside, I did thoroughly enjoy the characters, the plots and especially the writing.

I particularly enjoyed how the author plays with perspective between the protagonists and other characters.

Highly recommended!

Two very simplistic but likable protagonists, a dwarf with more bloodlust that common sense and a long-suffering scribe who balances out his partner’s fearlessness with his own cowardice, encountering various dangers of the Warhammer Fantasy universe, mostly followers of chaos. It makes a good introduction to the setting. However, many of the short stories in this anthology leave a lot to be desired, and often end before the plot has even been resolved.

Trollslayer was AMAZING a complete surprise. Never really read any Warhammer fantasy book but it was really really well done. These were all originally short stories but since they are all following the same characters and happen after each other they hold together really well. Certain plot elements are things you may have seen before or will figure out the plot end early on, but the journey is so satisfying that you don't mind. The prose is surprisingly beautiful, and I love the core friendship between this unlikely duo.

Such a fun palette cleanser between some pretty dark and dense books I've been reading lately. Keeble's narration is really freaking good, and I look forward to the subsequent books. I've never really paid attention to anything Warhammer related prior, but this series is right up my alley already and I can recommend the audio pretty heavily just from the first book. Some great character development for being a more "random quest" heavy book, and very entertaining action scenes.

Absolute classic! Every fantasy reader should explore the world of the Slayer Cults through Felix’s fine quill.
