This book made me fall in love with science fiction.

Good book, but had a family tragedy and don’t have it in me to read about murder and the end of the world right now.

Enjoyed it until the epilogue, which lost it a full two stars. If you read this one, skip those last few pages if you don’t want the classic trope of “female protagonist loses her powers/chooses domesticity” but with a sci-fi flavor instead of fantasy.

True Detective S1 meets Interstellar. Really enjoyed this even though it could be quite confusing at times. Lots of good twists and turns.

I was going to give this book a 4/5, despite the unrelenting gore that I wasn’t expecting and truly did not enjoy. Despite that, I found the concepts intriguing and the story moved along well and kept me interested. However, the epilogue alone lost it another star for me. I just.... ugh.
