I liked it as a whole. What I did wish for, since it had been a while since I read the first book, is we could use some character recaps. Other authors put these helpful tidbits in to remind us who did what in the before. I used to kind of hate those before this book, and now realized they really are quite helpful if you had done a bit of reading other books between books in this series. I found myself struggling to remember a couple of the characters.

This was incredibly disappointing.
I really enjoyed Serpent & Dove {rated 4 stars}
The angsty tension between Reid and Lou has turned into some sort of toxic mess. I liked both of them in the first book, but they were equally INSUFFERABLE in this one. The only character I cared about was Ansel.

I am DNF-ing the series.

The book takes a long time to become interesting but when it does it gets good.
