What I like most about this book is how it gets the reader to reflect on her/his own character, just as Annemarie does.

Catching up on all the childhood classics I was ‘supposed’ to read but never did. I’m glad Lowry included a postscript to the end contextualising events.

I loved this book, I've read it multiple multiple times. It's so excellent. It really delves into the rich Jewish culture and the world of the Holocaust.

I have read many WW2/holocaust books. This one was great, and an easy read.
