THE TYCOON'S SOCIALITE BRIDE was my 2nd book by Tracey Livesay and I enjoyed it. For me, marriage of convenience can be hit or miss but I really liked how up front both Marcus and Pamela were about what they wanted. Neither one had any romantic expectation going in even though feelings quickly got in the way. The maturity of both characters was really refreshing and I appreciated how they went about setting up their marriage of convenience. Like two actual adults they worked out what each wanted and how they would go about it. It's not necessarily romantic, but it was nice to read a marriage of convenience where one of the characters wasn't already romantically invested and just desperate to be with the object of their affection in any way they could.

Pamela was a really enjoyable character; she was so compassionate and genuine. She loves helping at the shelter and she’s willing to do anything, even marry a stranger, to help save it from being sold. Marcus was a pretty tough shell to crack all the way to the end. He’s worked years and years to accomplish his dream and he won't let anything get in his way. But this also means stomping over anything or anyone who gets in his way. He’s pretty ruthless through most of the story and it's not up until the very end that he realizes what’s most important in life.

D.C. can be a difficult city to maneuver politically and socially. And Marcus is realizing it's even more difficult if you don't have the old money - the blue blood family. His lack of history is causing problems with his most recent business deal, and when he discovers that the daughter of a senator needs something from him, he has the perfect solution.

This was a very new take on the marriage of convenience for me - I had only run into in historicals up to this point. Both parties enter the agreement knowing all the facts, so there was no hiding or fibbing involved and I found I really enjoyed the concept. Pamela was a little too much of a good girl through out the story though. While Marcus made his fair share of mistakes - she seemed to be too far above it all to be real.

The background of the business deal is quite interesting, but outside of that there really wasn't a lot of action or suspenseful moments. There were a couple, but they were wrapped up and moved on from rather quickly for my taste. However, this has shown me that I won't be turning books away just because they don't marry for love anymore.

This book was one of the best debut romance books I have read. Tracey Livesay really went above and beyond in creating this fun read. It had all the elements of a romance novel that I love and added in a few twists that I really enjoyed.

In this multi-cultural romance, race doesn’t matter. In fact the only that matters is Old Money and reputation. Because when a man wants something real bad, he’ll do anything to get it, even, even marry a woman he doesn’t know anything about. All he wants is a link to her surname. Luckily, the heroine in this book isn’t one of those ditzy, socialite types (Paris Hilton, need I say more?). She goes into the marriage with goals and desires of her own. Pretty great ones. Ones that will serve the community. She is pretty much all that is awesome wrapped into one. Armed with a law degree, she sets out to help woman who’ve been victims of domestic abuse, be it physical or emotional, and she’ll do anything to keep them in the safe place they are now.

Marcus has one thing on his mind (now, now, don’t start thinking dirty) and it’s to buy the hotel where his mother worked when he was a child. His hotness himself quickly finds himself falling for his fake wife, and that’s where the plot twists start rolling in. Because he ends up doing things that really make him seem like the world’s biggest ass. But he does make up for it in more ways than you could imagine.

I really liked this book. It had me hooked and I finished it in a couple of hours. The writing was superb, the storyline flowed and the thing I really loved? Not for one moment was race an issue. It’s a rare find in a world filled with romance novels. An one thing is for sure, if this book had me so completely enthralled, then I am definitely looking forward to reading more of Tracey Livesay’s work in the future.

I liked this book, it was cute and romantic, and sometimes a girl needs a good romance novel on the reading the list. The book is a quick read, it is a bit shy of 200 pages depending on the version you get, but sweet and decent. I enjoyed the plot and the way the story unfolded, the writing is good, and the pace is nice. Overall I would say it was a good read.

Thank you again Tracey Livesay! Yet another story that I could not put down, and could not stop smiling about. Each book I fall in love with the characters, and when the story ends it takes a piece of me with it.
Marcus and Pamela were a surprising couple. Marcus was a man on a mission, and he would not allow anyone to get in his way. When the proposition was made to marry Pamela it was beneficial for them both. Marcus could get his revenge, and Pamela could keep the shelter she poured her heart and soul into. It was to be a marriage of convenience until everything fell into place, but each kiss and each touch brought them towards a point of no return. When their feelings and desires began to get to real they each had a decision to make, and it could make or break everything.

Marcus had many moments where he was harsh and critical with his words and treatment of Pamela. Pamela was sweet, loyal, and dedicated. She was born and bred to be a socialite , and to marry for status. In a sense they were as different as night and day, but once they found a common ground there was nothing that could stop them together.
