Such a wonderful book with an interesting storyline, accompanied with beautiful illustrations! It's been a while since I last read a picture book and this really reminded me of the joy it brings! With every page I caught myself smiling, not only because of the innocent characters and what they did but also because I'm amazed with how the author, Chris Riddell, brought them to life with the amazing pictures in every scene. Highly recommended for the young and young at heart!

Ottoline has made a new friend, she seems to have the most amazing stories that she wishes to tell at length whilst they are together. As a result Ottoline decides that she wishes to go to the most unique school which has a set of classes that most children would probably dream of for their ease. However it is Ottoline and there is always a mystery to be solved. Another amazing story that is beautifully illustrated creating the most entrancing experience.

I picked up this book because I love Chris Riddell's interpretation of The Graveyard Book. I didn't expect this story to be colorful, but it was. The illustrations are amazing and the story reminded me of Enid Blyton's Malory Towers. He even included a bit of Frankenstein (the only classics I truly love) in it.

Yet the best part for me? The fact that he mentioned three different states in Malaysia in it. I noticed Penang (where I was born), then Sarawak and Pahang. See, Malaysia hardly gets any mention in books by non-Malaysians, so this is a big deal. Even though he didn't even name the Sulatana of Pahang...

As a bonus, Riddell "hid" some ghosts that he listed on the last page. Made me go back through the pages to look for them.

I so want to go to school with Ottoline!!
And find out what my special talent is!
And solve a mystery while I'm there!
(And maybe have a story with a bit more depth, that sneaks up on you)

Wonderful book, brilliant illustrations and out and out fun!
(Especially if you get the hard cover with it's extra bits at the back!)

2.5 Illustrations were once again wonderful and whimsical and I enjoyed the nod to Frankenstein’s monster but I preferred the mystery of Ottoline and the Yellow cat!
