I LOVED the movie, and the book is pretty much the movie in written form. I guess this was originally written as a middle-grade novel, and I'd say it's probably appropriate for middle school and up. Some crude language in one part, but that's about it for content warnings. I loved it!

My take:
I appreciated reading the perspectives of Juli and Bryce. They each told about each incident in their point of view - the story "flipped". I saw each character grow and learn that they must look at the quality of a person rather than just judge from the outside. They each "flipped" in their way of thinking.
While this book was entertaining, a quick read and has a good message - I am not really sure the value of such book for an 8th grade Literature class assignment.

“I’d spent so many years avoiding Juli Baker that I'd never really looked at her, and now all of a sudden I couldn't stop.”
WHEN I TELL YOU she fell HARD but he fell HARDER I- AAAAHHHHH
I’m like Bryce when I get a crush always looking at them and that causing distraction lol
and Juli liking someone because of their pretty eyes and smile? that’s so me (tho I’m not in her level)
There’s good character development, pretty quotes (about nature and some personal), and good things to learn from, like:
"You can't dwell on what might have been, Bryce." Then, like he could read my mind, he added, "And it's not fair to condemn him for something he hasn't done." I felt that one
characters:
Each character in both families were sooo good (EXCEPT you may know who). Outside family: Darla SUCH a good friend and there’s good neighbors (I think 2 are the only ones mentioned but still)
This has everything I like in “romance” (kind of): REALLY slow burn, funny, relatable characters, many good characters, dual pov, descriptive feelings and overall SO CUTE.
