Dark romance with anti heroes

Alena and Idris - this is one broken, messed up, super dark love story. Please note that if you have triggers do no read this book. If you enjoy villains as your main characters then I highly recommend. Alena is out for revenge and rightly so - the nice, pretty girl no longer exists and in her place is a pissed off woman out to get what's due to her. Luckily for her those she dreams of getting revenge on make the mistake of trying to get their revenge on the Boogeyman. A broken assassin pretending he was enjoying retirement. And so their love story begins...this was a dark romance full of bloody action and I liked it a lot. Two lost, crazy souls found each other amidst their revenge....worth a read if you're into dark romance

I really didn't like this book.
Most of the torture is there just for the shock value. The plot feels like an afterthought. And the characters are pretty one dimensional.

Some elements are missing for me and I just couldn't feel the characters. So the torture was there but had no emotional impact for me. Which made this experience flat.

The over the top John Wick world didn't really help either. Tho now I wonder how the movies manage to make it not feel so out of please and ott.

I have the feeling that the horror genre or maybe thriller does the whole "let's torture someone for 50% of the book in all kinds of ways" better than this. This book screams "I am edgy" but the emotional scarring part is missing.

This entire storyline is highly improbable. But it has a John Wick feel that just like the movie I absolutely loved.

More please

Dark, very very dark. READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS before you start this book.

This book was very dark but worth it. It is about Alexa who gets drugged at a club and kidnapped. These people try to sell her but she is crazy so he tries to kill every one who tried to buy her. Eventually , they settle on torturing and r*ping her. Enter the boogeymen, he is a retired ex assassin who is investigating his neighbors disappearance when he is taken and brought to the same facility as Alena. They form this odd relationship since their cells are right across from each other. They talk about revenge and her life and his life. Eventually, Alexa has an opportunity to get back at the men\woman who took her and she takes it. I won't say anymore on this but I will say this book was dark and it was bloody and I loved every min of it. Read it if you like dark romance but be warned this book is not for the faint of heart. Read it at your own risk and read the trigger warnings before starting this because this book was brutal!

author after my heart

I have to say I’m never disappointed in a book by K.A Knight it started with Den of Vipers and now I just can’t stop reading their books.
