Wasn't for me. I didn't like the writing style. The banter between the characters.
The idea of the story was good.
Hero and heroine are separated after the Hero is hexed so he forgets her.
During separation both celibate.
No other woman or man drama.
No intimate scenes with anyone other than the Hero and heroine.
No cheating.
Breadcrumbs dropped for future books in series.

A little side step in the adventures which began with the Afters Sleuth of Bears! When Alder Thorne meets his witch mate, he gets more than he bargained for. After all, Shifters are Persons Non Grata in her neck of the country. But after fighting off a vampire attack they cave into their attraction. But when he leaves to get breakfast the next morning, he doesn't realise that he won't see her again...for 5 years!

Wren Thistle always thought that when she met her Beloved, that would be it. But believing she has been abandoned by Alder, she moves on with her life. There are more things to worry about that a flighty mate. But when the enchantment that had been placed on Alder finally breaks and his memories of her return, he races to find her.

But when he finally traces her, he realises that he has missed out on way more than just years with his mate. But with vampires on the prowl and murderous magic wielders trailing them, he has to move them to the safety of his pack. But trouble has a way of finding this Alpha wolf and he may have to fight for more than his pack and family.

Fabulous read. I loved Alder and Wren and the fact that this was a drawn out romance, through no fault of the characters. Whilst it was kinda instalove when they first met, by the time they meet again a lot has happened to both of them that makes them both wary of what may happen to them now they have been reunited. Loved it, loved it, loved it!
