The "ghostly" case C & K Ghost Detectives got in this sequel is better than the last. I loved it! It did seem more complex and definitely required a bit more research on the writer's parts I think Dori pulled it off well. I loved the idea and the storyline and I also loved that Kaz learned something about his abilities. Another 5-star rating in this series.

The Five O'Clock Ghost by Dori Hillestad Butler was published in 2015.  This book is part of the Haunted Library book series.  It is meant for students who are in first through third grade.  This story is about a group of humans and ghosts who work together to solve ghost mysteries around their town.  Claire is a human and works with Kaz, who is a ghost.  They formed a company called C and K Ghost Detectives.  They are hired to discover whether a ghost or something else is the cause of crazy things turning on all by themselves at a little boy's house in town at five o'clock exactly.  Kaz is also on the lookout for his missing family members whom he lost track of when their old haunt was torn down.  They use their special skills to solve the mystery.  This book would be good to use as a free choice book or a book club book in the classroom.  Since the book is part of a series, at the end, it leads into the next book.  <mystery> <early chapter book> <lighthearted>
