Again, this is not a book, this is a short story.
It got slightly scary there...

Levar Burton’s reading is such a great way to listen to short stories, and I have been enjoying listening every few weeks to a new story; however, I do feel the challenge of staying engaged with a single story in audio format. There were a few scenes that stood out, describing the intense focus on the fish and the main character’s relationship with the fish (even obsession). Levar Burton emphasized the dynamics of a woman’s doing a man’s job, but I actually feel like I missed out on a lot of that.

The Dolphin House - obsessive relationship with fish, intense description of nature, oneness with ocean animals
This Impossible Brightness - waterfront town, quiet tone, slightly mystical, lighthouse significance

So, I have no idea what this was about actually, not helped that the first 4 times I listened were interrupted by severe gastro. I get the whole 'women can't do a man's job' part, but what was the fish about? Burton has chosen some very different stories so far.

Well-written and interesting, but I feel like I'm missing something about the ending.

The commentary about how society dictates and decides the positions of various women and fail to accept those who dare to break the mold it has created was good even if the execution left a bit to be desired.
