I'm rating this book a solid 4.5 stars. I loved how different Edith was and how realistic the relationship dynamics were with her family. I thought that this book was written very well up until the ending where the story climaxed. Everything started to feel a little rushed and I felt that it just didn't fit in with the rest of the story. I didn't like how Edith and Bastin couldn't be together in the end... like they were in a vague sense, but not physically. That was a bit disappointment for me, especially considering how hard Edith has had it up until this point. If the climax/ending had been on a more positive note, then I would have given this book a solid 5 stars.

2.75, rounded up to 3 because I'm fairly confident that a lot of junior high students would enjoy this book and they're the ones who this book was written for.
