This is a sweet story about friendship. I wish there'd been more to it, as it felt a bit slight, but I liked what was there.

A sweet simple story between two girls from different backgrounds. Overcoming economic and religious differences the girls realize that they are more alike than different in the end. I liked that healthy honest communication with parents was present throughout the book.

I actually read this months ago but for some reason I forgot to add it here on Goodreads! I love Jen Wang's illustration style a lot and this somewhat autobiographical tale was really lovely. It talks about friendship, growing up and identity and it's overall really fun!
