Louisa May Alcott's portion of this book took up far less than that of Kate Cummings', due to the fact the Cummings was as nurse during the entire war. I'll admit, I found her views somewhat biased, as she frequently makes mention that Northerners committed any number of atrocities, while making the Southerners out to be perfect angels. When in fact, there were horrible acts committed by soldiers and civilians on both sides. If one is able to get past that, it is a good look into the experiences of nurses in the Civil War,
