I loved the writing in this, there were multiple sentences that stopped me in my tracks to re-read and ponder. The best way I can describe the vibe is the song The Fear by Lily Allen (but French, and in the 50s), it was delicious.

The procrastination stuff hit a bit too close to home in the best way.

Denna bok har jag läst pågrund av min svenska kurs på gymnasiet. 
Den var intressant, men jag hade lite svårt att hänga med i den ibland tyvärr. 

Historien utspelar sig under 50 talet (vilket jag missade) på den franska rivieran! Vi får följa huvudkaraktären Cécile som reser ned med din pappa för att ta det ledigt. Där nere får hon reda på att han ska gifta sig med en kvinna som inte är lika ”fri” som dom. Utan hon vill att Cécile ska plugga och skaffa sig en framtid och inte ta det lugnt och ”leva livet”. Cécile får panik och bygger up en plan för att  separera paret från varandra! 
Det låter hel intressant, men jag hade svårt att förstå henne då hon ibland var glada för dem och ibland inte. 

Jag tror helt klart att den är bättre om jag läser om den någon gång fram över! Och det finns självklar delar i den som jag gillar, det är ju trots allt en klassiker! Jag förstår även att den var speciell för sin tid då Cécile är väldigt öppen och själv sexuell vilken innan inte varit lika öppet inom litteratur. 

Jag är lite osäker kring vad jag tycker om den i slutändan, men det var intressant att läsa och hade nog inte läst den om det inte var för svenska kursen! 

Tog mig 3 timmar och 30 minuter att läsa boken!

Color me impressed to know that Sagan wrote this at such a young age. I found myself smirking already at the first few pages when the narrator reflects on how unattractive people make her uncomfortable. It's a short and quick read with a lot ideas to digest.
