I picked this up on a whim because I remembered that I enjoyed the first book when I had covid and needed a similar drama-filled high school/college setting romance but HOLY SHIT this might be one of my favorite reads of the year.
The potential to spoil the many plots of this book is overwhelming, so I’ll keep this about the characters.
Dia was such a sweet seemingly innocent character until we got to REALLY delve into her and that extra bit? she ate and absolutely left no crumbs. She was fierce till the last freaking minute as she should. Her relationship with her parents, her brother, and her friends really added richness to the book and provided just the right amount of drama to get you hooked.
FINN HAD ME BY A CHOKEHOLD mister Finn really said let me raise the bar to astronomical heights, and that’s exactly what he did. A traumatized, deeply complex character that kept me on my TOES throughout the book hoping that his pain would go away somehow. His plotline makes you think about the consequences of everything you do, and how sometimes the guilt resulting from them paralyzes you for life.
The book ends on a cliffhanger so horrifying I stayed up till 4am last night to finish the second book but concerning this one, an absolute MASTERPIECE.

Dear heart I hate you ist intense 😂

Was will man mehr? 😂
Also im Vergleich zum ersten Buch ist Dear heart I hate you deutlich düsterer und versauter. Never judge a book by its cover trifft es hier ganz gut.
