In my limited experience, this is the best book for learning, with the gentle guidance of a man who really knows and cares, how to communicate with children.

For the most part I liked it. It’s a quick read that helps understand the emotional journey of your little one and how to talk to him/her. The only problem I had with it is that it doesn’t really get into how to solve issues. Like he says “your child may hit or bite because he feels this...” but he doesn’t tell you how to stop that behavior effectively.

It's not super in depth but sometimes not everything has to be. Easy to navigate and clearly organized sections. I'll read anything from Mister Rogers.

I didn't read this book recently, but I often think about it when I'm talking to other parents. Mr. Rogers offers a lot of solid and practical advice for raising kids, but what made this book so memorable to me was the tone of compassion and the specific way he'd break complex issues down into manageable ones.

I don't often reread books, but I'm definitely going to read this one again in a couple years.
