I'm often being asked for very scary books, but the ones doing the asking are sometimes 5-7 years old. This is perfect fare for them. It's a little bit creepy, but not too bad for young children.

I think it was the timing, but made my stomach turn on the "hair" story. Otherwise, perfect for Halloween or kids that like scary stories.

TW: creepy doll/puppet, swallowing hair

This horror series took me right back to the days I shivered while reading "A Dark Dark Room" by Alvin Schwarz. Perfectly terrifying for young readers, but always including some silly ideas too.

Short and simple stories, but powerfully packed with chills and thrills! Perfect beginning reader/transitional chapter book for young horror fans.
